We started off this morning with each of us having a check list. One for the inside, that’s mine and one for the outside, that’s Paul’s. We closed cabinets, checked windows, emptied tanks did everything on the lists. “Your antenna isn’t all the way down” came a call from one of our neighbors. Went it to turn the handle just a bit more, heard the clunk of it folding down close to the roof. Ahh, that’s the sound I’m suppose to hear. Now I got it! We did find out that out Rhino flexible sewer hose does not fit into the sewer storage pipe. We’ll have to check that out further to find out why.
Rick, another neighbor came by to give us a few pointers about hitching up to the truck. Locked and loaded and we are ready to hit the road. Now I must say, I have butterflies in my stomach, I’m as excited as Winnie the Pooh in the Honey pot, and a bit scared. It’s not living in the RV that is causing all this, it’s pulling a 38 foot long trailer with a height of almost 14 feet down the road that will take some getting used to! It also doesn’t help when Paul brings up the fact that the only thing holding the trailer is a two inch pin! Being on the highway is more calming then driving through the city. On the highway I feel we have more space, less traffic darting in and out and the peace of mind that I get from looking at the scenery.
It was a great two weeks staying a Oak Plantation Campground. We learned more by actually living in the RV and from our fellow RVers then we could ever learn from a book. Onward to North Carolina for an overnight stay before we head on to the next piece of our journey.
Life is like a blanket too short.
You pull it up and your toes rebel, you yank it down and shivers meander about your shoulder;
but cheerful folks manage to draw their knees up and pass a very comfortable night.

ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great time at Oak Plantation Campground. Know you will have fun in NC. There are so many beautiful places to see and stay! Especially this time of year, the weather is wonderful! Should be cooling down quite a bit. Good luck with pulling everything along, with just the two pins. Love to hear more about your adventure. Take care you two and stay out of trouble. Miss you!
ReplyDeleteYee haw - you're on the road! As one full-timer said to us on our very first evening out, "Welcome to life!" We loved NC, especially the Cherokee area. Be safe and enjoy!
