The chest xray from this afternoon showed some fluid on the lungs. There is a slight infection in the surgical site. Both are being treated with antibioctics.
The good news is that the J tube placement is good and there is activity inside the bladder/bowels.
Paul sat up for several hours today and did a small bit of walking.
He should sleep well tonight.
Thank you all for the encouraging comments, the jokes and mostly for the continued prayers and outpouring support.

Thanks for the update, Jo. I'm sorry to hear about the infection and fluid, but the good news is about the J tube and waking up the bowels & bladder! You guys are definitely in my thoughts throughout the day. As my Dad used to say, "This too, shall pass." In later years, I'd add to that, "Yeah, like a kidney stone!" Hahaha! Gentle hugs to both . . .
ReplyDeleteHi to both of you. Just received this blog address! It's good to be able to read accurate reports! Pool talk being what it is.....! Ron is quite sure that there is no long johns being worn at the moment by Paul, and shorts are also not an option! We are so glad to hear of the 'waking up' part. We continue to pray for a complete recovery without any added hiccups.

Betty,
ReplyDeletePaul laughed at your kidney stone comment and shook his head in understanding. We continue to hang in there.
Elaine and Ron,
Nope we are not up north and in need of long johns, nor are we off sitting on the beach in our shorts. I would love to be a little bird and hear all the pool talk!
We continue to look forward to getting home and back to a new routine.
